P.s I predicted that, somehow.

(Fly away.)

Yeehaa ! We are adults now and we need to talk.
Thursday, April 29, 2010

Nothing much to say today except for the fact that today it was pretty hectic.

The launch of the new project went on really smoothly except for a few minor technical glitches.

Super broke now but pay day is tomorrow.

Woo.

I can't wait for an awesome lepak session with Kakak.

Memekik lahh seyy.

I guess this is it today.

Will update tomorrow.

(Fly away.)

A sweet enough proposal made, 2 plane tickets for a trip a million miles away and a very famous and tall racer.
Tuesday, April 27, 2010

If I told you I was going away,
Would you stop me and make me stay ?
Would you talk to me and remind me of the days,
Would you listen to the words I'll say ?

If I told you I wanted love and care,
Would you tell me that you'll always be there ?
Would you be there for me if I ever feel scared,
Can I ever feel the love that was once shared ?

On a lighter note, today, Nurul gave me a maxi dress.

No, wait.

That didn't come out right.

I bought from her a purple maxi dress because, it was too figure hugging from her.

It's beautiful !

I can't wait to wear it.

Hee.

Anyways, nothing much to update today because, technically there were so many things that has to be done.

2 briefings on the same day !

Can you imagine that ?

Next week, there are new tasks that are being handed to me and I'm afraid it'll be too busy for me to blog.

More upcoming projects to handle.

Pfft.

Friday's makan and rounding sessions with my dearest Kakak and Bestie / Cousin Nina is cancelled because Bestie / Cousin Nina's boyfriend-soon-to-be-husband is working and Thursday I am very broke.

Decided to postpone it till next week though.

Can't wait !

On Friday, I decided to hop by Kakak's place and perhaps another memekak session at GrandLink.

This month is officially a tight month.

The irony of it.

Yet, struggling to obtain and clock the hours I am suppose to.

Anyways, I guess this is it for today.

I am kind of brain dead for a minute.

If.

Let me repeat if.

If I am hardworking enough, I might just update twice.

Bye !!!

Ohhs.

And ...

I am still undecided against the BlackBerry or I-Phone.

Gahh.

He got his I-Phone last night.

Say hello to his new girlfriend, I-Phone.

P.s Sometimes, I sleep with utter disbelief, full or disappointment and resentment.

Volunteering pornstar ?
Monday, April 26, 2010

A lady wanted to know which theatre is showing R21 movies as she wants to go and watch them. She claimed that she has a nice body and wishes to star in the R21 movies. Thus, she wants to know who she can and should approach. She was also very persistent and asked further on such subject matter.
- Crazy lady at 1500HOURS.

Left side abdominal pain is often more common in women and young adults, as a cause of abdominal pain.

The causes of a left sided abdominal pain are legion and runs the gamut from diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome, kidney infections, kidney stone, bowel problems, like diverticulitis, and constipation, to pain arising from muscles and skin over the left side of the abdomen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Left side abdominal pain is defined as pain occurring in the abdomen, to the left of an imaginary straight line drawn from the center of just under chest through the umbilicus or belly button, down to the top of the genitalia.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any disease process affecting organs or structures on the left side of the abdomen can cause pain there.

Left side abdominal pain can also result from organs or structures far removed from the abdomen or near it, or even from pain spreading from other part of the abdomen.

It is worth remembering that causes of central abdominal pain or even right side abdominal pain can over lap and cause pain on the left side of the abdomen.

As in other parts of the body, pain on the left abdomen can occur from disease affecting the following organs found there.

Organs and structures found in the left side of the abdomen are :

• Left edge of the liver
• The spleen
• Body and tail of the pancreas
• The stomach
• Left half of the transverse colon or large intestine
• The descending colon
• Sigmoid colon
• Left adrenal gland
• Left kidney
• Left ureter
• Left ovary in women
• Left fallopian tube in women
• Blood vessels on the left side of the abdomen including the aorta
• Muscles of the wall of the left side of the abdomen
• Nerves on the left side of the abdomen
• Skin covering the left side of the abdomen.

Structures not found on the abdomen that could still cause pain on the left side of the abdomen include :

• Lower part of the left lung
• Left half of the diaphragm
• The heart

In a few individuals, their appendix, and all other structures found normally on the right side of the body could be on the left, in a medical condition called Situs Invertus.

In those individuals, causes of left sided abdominal pain are actually those causing right side abdominal pain in normal individuals.

Here, we will concentrate on causes of left sided abdominal pain in normal setting.

As states above, common causes of left side abdominal pain includes :

• Heartburns
• Gastritis
• Stomach ulcer
• Pancreatitis
• Stomach tumour
• Irritable bowel syndrome
• Diverticulitis
• Crohns disease
• Ulcerative colitis
• Polycystic ovarian syndrome - PCOS
• Twisted or Ruptured ovarian cyst
• Ectopic pregnancy
• Pelvic Inflammatory Disease - PID
• Endometrosis
• Coelic disease
• Constipation
• Bowel tumour
• Pulmoanry embolism - blood clots in the lungs
• Hereditary Angioedema
• Sickle Cell Disease
• Porphyria

...

The list goes on and on like that of causes of abdominal pain.

For ease of diagnosis, and to be able to understand the possible cause of left side abdominal pain in your case, causes of abdominal pain in this region is divided into causes of upper left side abdominal pain, if the abdominal pain is felt on the left side of the abdomen above the level of the umbilicus, and a lower left side abdominal pain if the pain occurs on the left side of the abdomen below the level of the umbilicus or belly button.

Follow on this to read about possible causes discussed.

You can use the search link provided below to search this site or the web generally for any of the above listed causes not discussed here.

Where were you tonight ?
Sunday, April 25, 2010

As I lay in bed one April night,
I couldn't understand my sorrow plight;
I tossed and I turned sweating in bed,
I tried to make sense of the thoughts played in my head.

There were so many unforgettable incidents,
There were plenty that were purposely forgotten;
But as I searched deeper in the corners of my heart,
It then struck me that was where it had start.

Okae.

Today, I am going to talk abit about my history.

Everyone has been asking me, how did I get to know an ang moh or a caucasian from New York City when I am stuck in a tiny red dot called Singapore.

It started sometime in 2005 or maybe 2006.

I was playing pool on Yahoo! with a certain Mr. Kato8225 and I suddenly had to go.

I had school and mind you, I was playing pool for the last 5 hours.

I was going cross eyed from all the pool playing.

Hahaha.

Anyway, I don't know what had struck me to give him my blog address which I did.

I didn't read much into it and technically, I did indicate an email address on my blog.

It was about maybe 3 days to a week later when I received an unexpected email from him !

Damn, I was mad excited.

Like, hello ?

An American is keeping in touch with me !

Lol.

A 16 year old Asian girl is in touch with someone a million kilometres / miles away.

He emailed me and he told me that he has gotten MSN so that we could talk.

And, I was to hit him up.

Hahaha.

Which I'm glad I did.

And, everyday since the day he had signed up for MSN, we'd chat our lives for hours like everything else didn't matter.

And, yes, I'd have fights with my brother because I use to hog the P.C all day.

Hahaha.

And then, we took a step further in our friendship / relationship.

He asked me for my cell phone number.

And, yes.

I gave it to him.

I was kind of expecting him to give me a call immediately.

But he didn't.

So, I had to wait in anticipation.

And, then, he bloody hell called !

I just woken up, that was about 7.ooAM to 9.ooAM in the morning and I sounded pretty stupid on the phone.

And then, he laughed out loud.

Because I was itchy and mosquitoes were biting me.

F.Y.I ehhk, during our first conversation, I spoke like a normal Singaporean.

No foreign accents or etc.

Just a normal Asian girl with Singlish and stuff like that and he couldn't understand a single thing that was coming out of my mouth.

And, we would talk for 5 hours every single day.

And there were instances where by we'd quarrel on MSN because he is asking me a whole lot about my religion.

Which is Islam.

Technically, there some questions that I can't answer because, I am not knowledgable enough.

And, not to mention that he was persistent into asking me to come over to New York City.

And then, I had to keep convincing him to come to Singapore.

Bloody hell, kan ?

Datang je lahh Singapore !

Susah sangat ke ?

Hahaha.

And, after all that arguments, we are still talking on the phone.

So, this is my story.

Hahaha.

And, he used to think that Muslims all over the world are burqa wearing people and the men don't shave their beards and we never bathe.

Hello ?

I shower at least twice a day, I shave at least once in 2 days and no, I don't wear a burqa but my Mama wears a scarve / tudung.

And, Singapore is not infested with coconut trees and I do not live under a coconut tree and we are not located in China.

And, hell no.

We are not in the middle of nowhere.

And I think he has an obsessive disorder to tell all his American friends that I am Asian, I live in Singapore and I am a Muslim.

That's all !

5 years and counting, we still enjoy each other's company on the phone.

I just wished that he'd come here.

BlackBerry or I-Phone ?
Friday, April 23, 2010

Alamak, dilemma uhh !

I don't know which one I should get.

Blackberry or I-Phone ?!!

Pfft.

I want to get a BlackBerry, well, because it's uber cool.

And he wants me to get an I-phone pasal he is getting an I-Phone in May.

And if I get a BlackBerry, I can IM with Abang Syidiq, Kak Jiji and even Nina.

But, if I get an I-Phone, since I am constantly texting him, it'll be free of charge.

Gahh.

Dilemma nya.

Anyway, right now, I am using a Nokia E63.

Which looks like the BlackBerry.

Well, almost.

How uhh ?

BlackBerry ke I-Phone niie ?

Help !!!

Dangerously.
Thursday, April 22, 2010

Sometimes I get so weird,
I even freak myself out;
I laugh myself to sleep,
It's my lullaby.

Sometimes I drive so fast,
Just to feel the danger;
I wanna scream,
It makes me feel alive.

Is it enough to love ?

Is it enough to breath ?

Somebody rip my heart out,
And leave me here to bleed.

Is it enough to die ?

Somebody save my life.

I'd rather be anything but ordinary please.

And, this is something interesting I got from http://www.socialisimo.tumblr.com/

Afghan Women

The vast majority of Afghanistan’s population professes to be followers of Islam.

Over 1400 years ago, Islam demanded that men and women be equal before God, and gave them various rights such the right to inheritance, the right to vote, the right to work, and even choose their own partners in marriage.

For centuries now in Afghanistan, women have been denied these rights either by official government decree or by their own husbands, fathers, and brothers.

During the rule of the Taliban (1996 - 2001), women were treated worse than in any other time or by any other society.

They were forbidden to work, leave the house without a male escort, not allowed to seek medical help from a male doctor, and forced to cover themselves from head to toe, even covering their eyes.

Women who were doctors and teachers before, suddenly were forced to be beggars and even prostitutes in order to feed their families.

Since the fall of the Taliban in late 2001, many would agree that the political and cultural position of Afghan women has improved substantially.

The recently adopted Afghan constitution states that “the citizens of Afghanistan - whether man or woman- have equal rights and duties before the law”.

So far, women have been allowed to return back to work, the government no longer forces them to wear the all covering burqa, and they even have been appointed to prominent positions in the government.

Despite all these changes many challenges still remain.

The repression of women is still prevalent in rural areas where many families still restrict their own mothers, daughters, wives and sisters from participation in public life.

They are still forced into marriages and denied a basic education.

Numerous school for girls have been burned down and little girls have even been poisoned to death for daring to go to school.

The harsh facts :

• Every 30 minutes, an Afghan woman dies during childbirth.

• 87 percent of Afghan women are illiterate.

• 30 percent of girls have access to education in Afghanistan.

• 1 in every 3 Afghan women experience physical, psychological or sexual violence.

• 44 years is the average life expectancy rate for women in Afghanistan.

• 70 to 80 percent of women face forced marriages in Afghanistan.

An irony that we practice the same faith but we live two complete different lives.

Alhamdullilah.

Despite the fact that my life is full of struggle, I do not face the calamity that these women or even children are facing.

Anyways, let's try and paint a brighter picture.

(:

I need to do some soul searching.

Really.

Hmm ...

My mind says I have to be here but, my heart says I should go.

But, I don't know.

I do not want to make any hasty decisions.

Technically, I have stopped asking because I stopped caring.

I feel confused at the moment because I don't know what I should do with my life.

Come on, I am almost 21.

Yet, I feel utterly misplaced sometimes.

On most days, I feel that I am at the wrong place.

So, where should I be ?

Aaarrrggghhh.

I need a plan ticket to literally no where.

I have goals and dreams that I want to pursue.

But, what's stopping me ?

And, damn the stomache aches right now.

Pfft.

What you give is exactly what you receive,
So put me in a cage and lock me away;
And I’ll play the games that you want me to play.

I was slightly pissed last night because it was raining heavily like mad and I was drenched.

Thank goodness I saw a colleague while waiting for the rain to subside a little.

But, even though we had an umbrella with us, it did little to shelter us from the pouring rain.

Upon reaching the MRT station, I was dripping and soaking wet.

Anyways, I headed to Braddel to meet Shida.

As, I had a mission to get some stuff from her.

Hehehe.

And, she was kind enough to lend me some spare clean and dry clothes which technically were a wee bit to small for me.

Hahaha.

But, I was warm !

Hahaha.

She had some leftover macaroni and fried chicken drumlets.

Wahh.

Best.

Hehehe.

And, Vin Diesel on Triple X is super hot lahh seyy.

Look at his shoulders.

My goodness.

Fetish siiaks.

I need a man who has his shoulders.

Hahaha.

Bila lahh you nak badan macam niie ehhk ?

I want, I want, I want !

Lol.

I am melting right now.

Anyways, I opted for a half day emergency leave today because when I woke up, I wasn't feeling well.

I had a massive headache and super bad flu.

I think it's because I was caught in the rain last night.

Uber, bummer.

I was watching documentaries again last night before getting to bed.

I was slightly pissed because, someone or something is preventing me from falling a sleep last night.

Gahh.

I swore to God that I heard someone calling my name from a distace.

It sounded female.

She called my name several times.

Well, I ignored it because, technically, I was concentrating on the movie.

It was about jihad and stuff.

Scary shit.

Because on one clip, I saw a woman in burqa being shot in front of thousands of spectators in the middle of the stadium.

“Terrorism is a crime against humanity. Islam is a religion that means ‘peace’. In the Holy Quran, Allah commands believers to bring peace and security to the world. The Islamic morality is the cure for terrorism, not the source of it.”
— Unknown.

Seram kan ?

I know.

And, they just left her there.

Anyway, before I heard the entity calling out my name, I heard furniture being dragged across the room.

The sounds came as though it was from upstairs.

Occasionally, I will hear marbles being thrown.

Like, what the hell ?

Maybe, it was the upstairs neighbour so I just ignored it.

Then, I heard something being dropped on purpose from the kitchen.

That's when the name calling started.

I was still watching the movie though so I ignored it.

The movie is super insteresting.

But, I was getting sleepy so, I decide to switch off the PSP and try getting some shut eye.

But, I tossed and turned for 1 hour and every time I fell asleep, I would be woken up by sudden movements and sounds.

I am so tired and so freaking pissed.

Anyways, that is one of the reasons why I opted for a half day urgent leave.

Surprisingly, I didn't have a proper lunch.

I had a sandwich with a side of baked beans.

Then, I had a chocolate chip cookie.

And, I am not hungry.

Hahaha.

I guess that is all for today.

Super tired, now !

Bye.

P.s Why do I always get weird people calling me ?!!

(Fly away.)

These streets will make you feel brand new.

I want to be the very best.

Perhaps, I thought I'd be home today.

But, maybe not.

Currently updating while I am at work and feeling very cold.

I think these people have super thick pig skins or something.

Dahh sejuk pun masih nak turn on the damn fan.

Back to happier and warmer thoughts.

WYhA gave me a good offer today and I am still thinking about it.

I mean, I still have to negotiate and think about it.

I mean, I am going to be doing it from home.

So, that means I will not be spending any money for transport and stuff.

I am not sure.

He told me that right now, I am not earning much.

Which is technically true.

Aaarrrggghhh.

Stress lahh kalau fikiran pasal duit niie.

Ntah lahh.

Aq rasa, aq macam malas nak update lahh kan.

Pasal, I didn't do anything awesome today and all the calls are merepek and weird.

I have no idea why.

Do we look like an information counter for the whole Singapore to you ?!!

Heck, no.

Dahh, malas.

Meeting Shida to get some barang from her.

And I finish work at 6.ooPM.

Gahh.

I think he is exercising and burning his fats at home.

It's such a wonderful weather to sleep today.

Anyways, it annoys me when people try to pretend their name is something else when it is actually something else.

Originality, please.

Puii.

Okae, being crappy now.

I guess that's it.

Bye.

By the way, I don't normally do this but I want to sedekah kan Al Fatiha to Achik Spin.

Sobs.

I grew up listening to his song.

Walaupun lahh kw tak kenal aq, tapi, aq favourite sangat dengan lagu kw !

Innalilahh.

Ya Allah, cucuri lahh rahmat ke atas roh Allahyarham dan tempat kan beliau di kalangan mereka yang beramal soleh.

Amin.

I want a mixtape of you.

I finally saw her today and she was extremely adorable.

I was afraid of cradling her in my arms as she is ever so fragile.

I spoke to her and she looked and responded to me ever so innocently.

I am glad everything is alright.

Alhamdullilah.

P.s Cousin, kalau dahh melepak tuu, jangan lupa ajak aq and bawak dia sekali.

Anyway, Kak came over to my place and the kids were super excited.

Dahh lama ke tak jumpa grandparents nya dekat Balestier ?

Hahaha.

Anyways, I feel that I am an awesome inspiration because technically some of my colleagues were successfully tempted to start blogging.

Hahaha.

It started 2 weeks back and everyone wanted me to help them ammend and edit their blogs.

Hahaha.

I am so happy that I am such an influential figure.

Lol.

Maybe, I should start charging people an hourly rated fee for every blog I amend and create.

Hahaha.

Then, I'll be rich.

Hahaha.

Anyways, nothing much to update today.

I guess because work starts tomorrow and I sort of dread it somewhere along the road.

I really missed school so much and people who complain that school is such a chore are so darn wrong.

Work is a killer !

Anyways, I am off watching documentaries on PSP again and I feel another tinge of emotions flushing through somehow.

Haa.

I feel like organizing a random awesome lepak session too.

P.s I want to dance all night with margarita on my hand and shoot at the sky.

Promotional Service.

Anybody interested in air conditioning servicing ?

Currently, we are having a promotion for servicing of 3 air conditioning units at $70.

Interested ?

Kindly email me at generationgirl2030@hotmail.com, okae ?

Thanks.

I understand that the weather is uber hot and humid, so you might want to do something about it.

Lest, it breaks down.

That will really suck.

Hee.

Anyways, met him today and headed to Far East Plaza for an awesome filling dinner at Cahaya Restaurant.

At first, we were undecided of where to have dinner or maybe our late, late lunch.

Because, today it rained like mad.

I took hours to get ready.

And, I am proud of what I had achieved after 1 hour of making myself up and looking pretty.

In the end, I wore shorts.

Hahaha.

We ordered the delicious and mouth watering tom yum soup, and fried wantons.

I ordered the kwayy teow goreng with seafood and cockles and he ordered the fishball noodles.

Next, we headed to Chippy's British Take Away and ordered fried Mars bars with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup.

The only reason I hate going to Far East Plaza on a Saturday is because the place is super infested with mat reps and minah reps who are YPs.

No, wait.

Just YPs.

Underage oii !

OMFG.

What the hell am I typing about, I ain't even got a darn clue.

Okae, let me explain in simple terms.

I saw a group of YPs, me and him were at the 5th floor enjoying our mouth watering spread and this kecoh group of kids yang kurang kasih sayang and carik perhatian was talking super loudly.

He was like eating and he said to me, "Sumpah, meluat."

Memang meluat pun.

I was having the tom yum soup siia and they suddenly spoke like super loudly.

Tak terbegik dahh bagus tuu.

After our meal, we headed downstairs to get a pack of cigarettes and I think I swear I saw them smoking secretly.

Nasib baik aq bukan NEA officer !

Kalau tak, memang dahh sound and tangkap pun.

Damn.

And, he was such an idiot making fun of me when I went to buy my cigarettes.

"Uncle, you better check her NRIC siia cause she is under age. Cannot buy cigarette one."

Iye lahh tuu.

Uncle kedai tuu tak check pun NRIC aq.

Hahaha.

Tapi, it reminded me of the same incident that happened.

I was at Toa Payoh MRT station and went to the nearest convenience store to get my pack of cigarettes.

I actually dressed quite formally on that day.

Hahaha.

Then, the girl asked for my NRIC.

I look young.

Woo hoo.

And, when she saw my age, she apologised.

I was like, "It's alright."

And smiled on my way back home.

We didn't do nothing much today because we were super stuffed from all that eating.

Headed to Mustafa Centre next to get some toiletteries and headed home.

Well, we rode aimlessly at first.

Then, I headed home.

So, here I am watching some documentaries on PSP.

I finally told Mama and him of the conversation I had with Mike and his Muslim friend the other day.

Hahaha.

The conversation was hilarious because he is asking me everything I know about my religion.

And, I think he was convinced when he greeted me with "Assalamualaikum" and I responded with "Walaikumsalam."

And, I could hear him jumping for joy when he said I was a good person cause I was a Muslim and I am the same religion as him.

Hahaha.

He even asked me if I knew when does the fasting month occur.

Duhh.

Ramadhan.

And, what is after the month of Ramadhan.

Syawal lahh.

And, he even asked if I knew what is Idul Adha.

Well, it's Aidil Adha here.

And, yes, Muslims who can afford it will perform the Haj or the pilgrimage.

Hahaha.

So, yes.

Aq Islam !

The funniest question of the day was, "Which mosque do you go to in New York City. Is it the one in Queens ?"

Hahaha.

Hello, I am in Singapore and I have never, ever been to New York !

I guess, unless you start talking to people from the other side of the world, they wouldn't know how you are living your life and how they are living theirs.

Unless, we start opening our minds to the different cultures and religions that exists on this Earth, we will always be shallow in our hearts.

It's not to late to always keep learning about our counterparts from the other side of the globe.

I am off to watch more documentaries now.

I think I might start getting a wee bit emotional soon.

Till then.

P.s It is a confirmed no.

After having that conversation with him, it left me speechless again.

I hated the fact that he told me everything last minute.

Sumpah my face was super cuak and nak nangis.

Is this another test from God ?

But, I am not giving it up.

I have decided !

And we are sticking to it.

Honestly, my mind is chaotic at the moment.

Why ?

Ntah lahh.

I left home early today from work.

Ntah apa angin bebudak niie semua.

Surprisingly, everyone is here.

So, because there is no space to sit, TL sent me back home.

So, I left at 2.3oPM.

Hahaha.

I looked shagged by the way.

Maybe, cause last night I didn't have a good night's rest.

Too much thinking perhaps.

Stressed out.

Anyways, sleeping at Maghrib is not advisable.

Semalam, aq mimpi yang bukan-bukan.

Astarghfirgullah-Al-Azim.

I dreamt that Adeq died.

Sedih kan mimpi aq ?

Hahaha.

And, when I woke up, there were tears in my eyes.

Okae, yes.

I cried in my sleep.

I guess that is all for today.

Going to eat dinner and off to bed soon.

Super, duper, uber penat !

And, aq stress !!!

Wednesday, April 14, 2010

If I had a baby, I'll name them either Yariiqa Miieshyel Luna or Synnta Aryssa Qyinndiiel for baby girls.

Miqhail Qyureshy Luqman or Shuuqran Aqiiel Dylawwar for baby boys.

Hahaha.

This was the conversation I had with Hani.

Next week, she'll find out the gender of her baby.

No wait.

Maybe, babies.

So, technically I can't wait.

Okae, yeah.

Baby names.

Hello, I have heard of it a million times lahh ehhk.

If you people are running a legitimate business, kenapa nak kena tipu orang.

Kenapa tak nak cakap yang korang dari L.F.I je.

Kenapa mesti nak beat about the bush.

I don't give a damn if people say that I am stuck up and stuff like that because I don't give them a chance to explain themselves.

Why should I ?

I have heard of them too many times and your schemes are always the same.

Eyy, bukan aq tak belajar niie semua.

Aq belajar lahh siiol.

What is Multi Level Marketing ?
Taken from Wikipedia.com.

Multi-level marketing (MLM), (also called network marketing, direct selling, referral marketing, and pyramid selling is a term that describes a marketing structure used by some companies as part of their overall marketing strategy.

The structure is designed to create a marketing and sales force by compensating promoters of company products not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of other promoters they introduce to the company, creating a downline of distributors and a hierarchy of multiple levels of compensation in the form of a pyramid.

The products and company are usually marketed directly to consumers and potential business partners by means of relationship referrals and word of mouth marketing.

MLM companies have been a frequent subject of controversy as well as the target of lawsuits.

Criticisms have focused on their similarity to illegal pyramid schemes, price-fixing of products, high initial start-up costs, emphasis on recruitment of lower-tiered salespeople over actual sales, encouraging if not requiring salespeople to purchase and use the company's products, potential exploitation of personal relationships which are used as new sales and recruiting targets, complex and sometimes exaggerated compensation schemes, and cult-like techniques which some groups use to enhance their members enthusiasm and devotion.

Not all MLM companies operate the same way, and MLM groups have persistently denied that their techniques are anything but legitimate business practices.

Setup.

Independent, unsalaried salespeople of multi-level marketing, referred to as distributors (or associates, independent business owners, dealers, franchise owners, sales consultants, consultants, independent agents, etc.), represent the company that produces the products or provides the services they sell.

They are awarded a commission based upon the volume of product sold through their own sales efforts as well as that of their downline organization.

Independent distributors develop their organizations by either building an active customer base, who buy direct from the company, or by recruiting a downline of independent distributors who also build a customer base, thereby expanding the overall organization.

Additionally, distributors can also earn a profit by retailing products they purchased from the company at wholesale price.

This arrangement of distributors earning a commission based on the sales of their independent efforts as well as the leveraged sales efforts of their downline is similar to franchise arrangements where royalties are paid from the sales of individual franchise operations to the franchiser as well as to an area or regional manager.

Commissions are paid to multi-level marketing distributors according to the company’s compensation plan.

There can be individuals at multiple levels of the structure receiving royalties from a single person's sales.

Legality & Legitimacy.

MLM businesses operate in the United States in all 50 states and in more than 100 other countries, and new businesses may use terms like "affiliate marketing" or "home-based business franchising".

However, many pyramid schemes try to present themselves as legitimate MLM businesses.

The FTC states "Steer clear of multilevel marketing plans that pay commissions for recruiting new distributors.

They're actually illegal pyramid schemes."

Why is pyramiding dangerous ?

Because plans that pay commissions for recruiting new distributors inevitably collapse when no new distributors can be recruited.

And when a plan collapses, most people-except perhaps those at the very top of the pyramid-end up empty-handed.

In a 2004 United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Staff Advisory letter to the Direct Selling Association states :

Much has been made of the personal, or internal, consumption issue in recent years.

In fact, the amount of internal consumption in any multi-level compensation business does not determine whether or not the FTC will consider the plan a pyramid scheme.

The critical question for the FTC is whether the revenues that primarily support the commissions paid to all participants are generated from purchases of goods and services that are not simply incidental to the purchase of the right to participate in a money-making venture.

The FTC warns "Not all multilevel marketing plans are legitimate. Some are pyramid schemes.

It’s best not to get involved in plans where the money you make is based primarily on the number of distributors you recruit and your sales to them, rather than on your sales to people outside the plan who intend to use the products."

Research is your best tool and gives eight steps to follow :

1) Find — and study — the company’s track record.
2) Learn about the product.
3) Ask questions.
4) Understand any restrictions.
5) Talk to other distributors (beware shills).
6) Consider using a friend or adviser as a neutral sounding board or for a gut check.
7) Take your time.
8) Think about whether this plan suits your talents and goals

However there are people who hold that all MLMs are nothing more than pyramid schemes even if they are legal rendering the whole issue of a particular MLM being legal moot.

What is a Pyramid Scheme ?
Taken from Wikipedia.com.

A pyramid scheme is a non-sustainable business model that involves the exchange of money primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, without any product or service being delivered.

Pyramid schemes are a form of fraud.

Pyramid schemes are illegal in many countries including Albania, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

These types of schemes have existed for at least a century some with variations to hide their true nature and there are people who hold that multilevel marketing, even if it is legal, is nothing more than a pyramid scheme.

There have even been charges by people like economist Thomas Sowell that the United States Social Security program itself is nothing more than a legalized pyramid scheme.

Concept and Basic Models.

A successful pyramid scheme combines a fake yet seemingly credible business with a simple-to-understand yet sophisticated-sounding money-making formula which is used for profit.

The essential idea is that the mark, Mr. X, makes only one payment.

To start earning, Mr. X has to recruit others like him who will also make one payment each. Mr. X gets paid out of receipts from those new recruits.

They then go on to recruit others. As each new recruit makes a payment, Mr. X gets a cut.

He is thus promised exponential benefits as the "business" expands.

Such "businesses" seldom involve sales of real products or services to which a monetary value might be easily attached.

However, sometimes the "payment" itself may be a non-cash valuable.

To enhance credibility, most such scams are well equipped with fake referrals, testimonials, and information.

The flaw is that there is no end benefit.

The money simply travels up the chain. Only the originator (sometimes called the "pharaoh") and a very few at the top levels of the pyramid make significant amounts of money.

The amounts dwindle steeply down the pyramid slopes.

Individuals at the bottom of the pyramid (those who subscribed to the plan, but were not able to recruit any followers themselves) end up with a deficit.

This story is tittled Voodoo Girl and is written by Tim Burton.

This poem is taken from the book, The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy and Other Stories.

Her skin is white cloth,
And she's all sewn apart;
And she has many colored pins,
Sticking out of her heart.

She has many different zombies,
Who are deeply in her trance;
She even has a zombie,
Who was originally from France.

But she knows she has a curse on her,
A curse she cannot win.
For if someone gets too close to her;
The pins stick farther in.

You can read more poems by Tim Burton as well.

The poems are pretty emo frappucino though.

Hahaha.

For some weird ass reason.

I am actually very sleepy now.

Despite sleeping the whole of last night, I am still falling asleep in the office.

Zzz ...

I think I am too stuffed.

Drinking Coca Cola doesn't help because, it made me shiver.

I think it's either the drink is too gassy ataupun, office niie memang sejuk lahh kott.

After Kak Jiji texted me about eating Indian Rojak, tetiba tekak niie macam terasa ada air liur stuck lahh pulak.

Hahaha.

Anyway, thanks to Cik Mahani, the place to be at for Indian Rojak is at Ayer Rajah Food Centre.

Siapa nak bawak aq ?
